Land Auction in Mississippi
The natural beauty of Mississippi real estate includes important habitat for fish and wildlife and the largest continuous system of wetlands in North America.  Conducted by Certified Auctioneers, Mississippi land auctions are increasingly popular for sellers.  Buyers wanting to purchase valuable Mississippi farmlands, Mississippi forestlands and timber farms, and prime Mississippi hunting properties for sale at auction attend online or in person to outbid one another.  [Click here for property evaluation of your hunting properties for sale nationwide.]

The Magnolia State extends from its western border along the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico.  Tennessee lies to the north Alabama to the east, and Arkansas to the northwest and Louisiana to the west of Mississippi lands.  The state's waterways support agricultural commodities such as broiler chickens, cotton, soybeans, aquaculture (catfish), cattle and calving, and chicken eggs.

Sixty-five percent of Mississippi land is forestland.  Individuals and families own 70 percent of the forestlands; the government owns 18 percent and the forest industry 12 percent.  The state's farmers sustain over 3,000 tree farms, which grow 46 percent hardwoods, 39 percent pine, and 15 percent oak and pine.

Timber production is a key to the economy.  From 1993 to 2006, the state's annual timber production value exceeded $1 billion.  In 2006, the state's forest industry had a $17.4 billion impact on the economy.  It is not surprising that there are 64 county forestry associations representing 72 of the 82 counties in the state.

More than 2 million acres of wild game habitats provide sportsmen a wide variety of hunting properties.  Commercial outfitters allow the public to access much private hunting land.  There are also 41 wildlife management areas, 12 National Wildlife Refuges, and 6 national forests.

Ongoing wildlife management practices help to maintain healthy and productive numbers of big and small game species.  The most popular wild game includes the highest number of deer per acre than any other state in the nation.  Migratory waterfowl, Eastern wild turkey, mourning dove, quail, squirrel, and rabbit are available through the long hunting seasons.
