Land and Minerals Auctioned at Barber County Kansas Land Auction

The October 18, 2010 land auction of the Gentry Ranch Kansas real estate and mineral rights by United Country, Nixon Auction & Realty LLC resulted in a total sale of $3.8 million.  At the Barber County land auction, the Kansas farmland and the mineral rights sold divided to two separate buyers.  The Gentry Estate and the Cline Family sold the entire 4,860 acres of land at auction for $515 an acre and the mineral rights for $270 an acre.  

Held at the Nixon Auction House on Highway 160 in Medicine Lodge, the Kansas real estate auction began promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 18.  At high bidders' choice, the land and mineral rights were offered in different parts.  The land auction resulted in one buyer purchasing all of the land as one parcel and another buyer purchasing all of the mineral rights for the entire tract of land.  Five percent was due on day of sale and balance due at closing within 30 days of auction.

The Gentry Ranch Kansas real estate sold at our KS land auction features varying water sources including creeks, ponds, springs, and wells.  It includes four large pastures or cells with separate water sources and corrals.  The north portion is farmland and a portion of one cell is leased farmland for winter grazing, all totaling 427 acres of tilled farmland.  The land auction included mile of updated fencing, corrals, maintained roads and ponds, dams and crossings.  

Featuring 4,860 acres, the Gentry Ranch is a 126-year-old estate and diverse working ranch in South Central Kansas.  Historically, the ranch has handled as many as 400 cow/calf pairs and has served as hunting property.
